Pagaruyung Palace

Pagaruyung Palace is also called Istano Basa Pagaruyuang.

This palace was the center of the kingdom of Minangkabau. The building of this palace is very unique, because all poles are tilted. In fact very strong and resistant to earthquakes that frequently occur in West Sumatra.

The form of this palace is “Rumahgadang” with a very large size and buffalo horn-shaped roof that curved tapered upwards.


Pagaruyung Palace is located 5 km from Batusangkar, 45 km from Bukittinggi, and 103 km from Padang.
